Hi, I’m Dr. Martí

I specialize in whole-person care, seeing you beyond a diagnosis and understanding the many factors shaping your wellbeing. With years of experience and a strong foundation in evidence-based practices, I tailor the treatment to your individual needs. I’ve supported patients from diverse backgrounds as they work through chronic pain, anxiety, depression, trauma, and more.

My Approach to Healing

I work to create a grounded, non-judgmental space where your thoughts, feelings, and lived experiences can be explored with compassion and curiosity.

Collaborations

In this interview, Dr. Adriana Martí talks with sex therapist Dr. Diana Wiley about why pelvic pain is so common yet rarely discussed, and how emotions, stress, trauma, and relationship dynamics can all play a role. They share compassionate, practical approaches that help women and couples reduce pain, reconnect with their bodies, and feel more empowered in their intimate lives.

How I Got Here

Early Years — Discovering My Calling

Even as a child, people naturally came to me for support. I felt a deep pull to listen, understand, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

Teen Years: A Personal Awakening

My calling deepened when I witnessed my grandfather’s struggle with lung cancer.
Watching the healthcare system treat only his symptoms while overlooking his comfort, emotional wellbeing, and quality of life opened my eyes.
Coming from a family of physicians, I respected medical science, but I also saw its limits. I realized that true healing must include the mind, the body, and their connection. This experience sparked my passion for integrative and whole person care.

2009–2014: Doctoral Training

Driven by this vision, I pursued a doctorate in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Neuropsychology at Carlos Albizu University in Miami, FL, earning my degree in 2014.
During this time, I immersed myself in understanding how the brain, body, and emotions interact laying the foundation for the mind–body approach I use today.

2014–Present: Supporting Patients from All Walks of Life

After completing my doctorate, I’ve spent more than a decade providing whole-person, evidence-based care across medical, rehabilitation, and community settings. Whole-person care for me means looking beyond symptoms to understand the full picture of your physical health, emotional wellbeing, relationships, daily stressors, and the environments that shape your life. It’s an integrative approach that recognizes how your mind and body influence each other and ensures treatment is tailored to you as a whole, not just a diagnosis.

My background in whole-person care includes serving as a Research Study Clinician at the University of Colorado Boulder and working as a Pain Psychologist in medical and rehabilitation settings such as Pacific Rehabilitation, Swedish Medical Center, and Kaiser Permanente. I’ve also supported patients within integrated primary care at HealthPoint and oversaw several mental health clinics for Sea Mar Community Health Centers. Across every setting, my commitment has remained the same, to help people living with chronic health conditions, emotional distress, and major life transitions feel seen, supported, understood, and empowered to take control of their well-being.

Advanced Training: Deepening My Tools

Over the years, I sought extensive training in evidence-based practices, including but not limited to:

- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
- Mindfulness-based Approaches
- Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing
- Hypnotherapy
- Schema Therapy
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy
- Gottman Method
- Solution Focused Brief Therapy
- Motivational Interviewing
- Internal Family Systems
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia
- Behavioral Activation
- Exposure Therapy
- Mindfulness Oriented Recovery Enhancement
- Emotional Awareness and Expressive Therapy
- Empowered Relief

These tools allow me to create individualized, integrative care for each person I work with.

Professional Leadership: Expanding My Impact

Beyond my clinical work, I’ve collaborated with healthcare systems, mentored trainees and early-career clinicians, and contributed to programs that expand access to holistic, evidence-based mental health care. Over the years, I’ve also developed deep expertise in treating a wide range of concerns, including anxiety disorders, chronic pain, depression, insomnia, trauma, and stress-related conditions. I frequently support individuals navigating health and illness anxiety, panic disorder, OCD, PTSD, high-functioning anxiety and depression, seasonal affective disorder, and challenges with self-esteem or social anxiety. I also work closely with college students, athletes, couples, and individuals experiencing pregnancy or postpartum anxiety and depression.

My mission, whether I am working with individuals, couples, organizations, or future clinicians remains the same; to help people grow, thrive, and reach their fullest potential through compassionate, integrative, whole-person care.
